sometimes when you think youre on a dusty country road and you feel you are riding on a highway to nowhere, empty and desolated like your life.. what you need is a sprinkling of good faith.. to know that everything will be better.. dark and murky as the road lies ahead.. you never know if it might lead you to untold wonders and unheard treasures.. the harder the road.. the better the reward.. of course.. nothing beats a good song to accompany you as you go along your merry way.. for that.. you need the Great Lakes.. with their song precious and reckless.. dedicated to someone i happen to know.. who is as the title track says.. but i adore her just the same.
dont you wish you could just lie on the cemetary lawns.. gazing at the expansive sky and the numerable stars.. letting the world go by as you laid beside the only person that mattered.. at that instant i would imagine.. everything would be good..
i cant lie on any cemetary lawns.. so to substitute that i listen to this song.. Cemetary lawns by The Rosebuds.. enjoy
the word of the day is carrel
So for all my avid fan(s).. how have you been doing? do you miss me? well i certainly hope you miss my songs too.. which is why i got a special nice one for you today.. Turpentine by Brandi Carlile..
The duality of life rears its head in every thing we do.. every person we meet.. every situation we face.. which side do we believe in.. do past words and actions mean as much as they do in the moment.. one can only assume..
embattled by choice.. we always believe ourselves victims of fate and destiny.. i say its time to change your own course.. write your own history.. grab it by the balls.. and give it a good shake
good day!
so i'm in a pool here.. walking.. walking.. its shallow..i feel great.. i feel tall.. i remember as a kid i went swimming.. i could barely keep my toes on the pool floor.. my head bobbing up and down the water's surface.. now as a grown up me wades through the pool.. a feeling of complacency and invincibility overcomes me..
suddenly without warning.. i find no floor beneath my feet.. ripped from right under me.. i am floundering.. struggling to find my feet.. do i continue struggling.. or do i let the water take me down.. down to the depths of the abyss.. where most surely a horrible fate awaits me.. the choice is mine..
Fight!!
P.S. due to my unbearable struggling.. i cannot upload songs today.. stay tuned for more though..
When everything seems right and perfect.. and you feel you have the world at your feet.. sometimes its hard not to wonder when everything will end and come crashing down.. A fear that refuses to subside.. a doubt that never retracts.. eating away at my consciousness..
Here's a song by one of my favorite country alt rock bands Limbeck with Everyone's in the parking lot.. for all of you out there who feel like that..
P.S. finally added album graphics for your visual benefit.
If it was all that easy to just put everything behind us, all the worry, all the doubt, all the nitty gritty problems that define us, throw everything away and start anew..
I think its possible.. and it would be a shame if no one wanted to try..
You're one with the burdon of intuition.
You're one with the freedom of a blank stare.
You're one with the best friend you lost,
You wish was still there.
Today's song is a streaker from maria taylor.. i simply love it.. its got everything.. slightly hushed ethereal vocals.. nothing too forceful.. lush instrumentation backed by electronic beats.. a distillation of all thats trendy in the indie folk scene these days.. knock yourself out.. if this song doesnt do it for you..
Maria Taylor - A Good Start...
What do you do when you've got absolutely all the time in the world and no money.. Do the simplest thing thats free.. sleep. Alternatively you could check these songs out for free..
Here's something from the good ol days, I couldn't resist not posting. The Flaming Lips have got to be the single most underrated influential psych rock band of our age and if you have not heard of them, here's them at their poppiest best with Fight test.
Followed by a brand new track from Brandi Carlile's new album. She is one folk troubadour with a smoking hot lilt of a voice. Something a little less noisy for you chilled out folks.
Enjoy!
